Panattoni names Sharad Gohil as India CEO to drive industrial expansion

Real estate veteran to lead growth across logistics, manufacturing and digital infrastructure

MUMBAI: It’s a new building block for Panattoni in India. The world’s largest privately owned industrial developer has appointed industry veteran Sharad Gohil as chief executive officer and managing director of its India business, signalling a sharper push into one of its fastest-growing global markets.

The appointment comes as Panattoni ramps up investments in India’s industrial, logistics and digital infrastructure sectors, betting on rising manufacturing activity, growing foreign investment, modernised supply chains and increasing demand for high-quality warehousing and industrial facilities.

Gohil brings more than 25 years of experience in real estate investment, asset management, capital raising and fund management across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Over the course of his career, he has overseen transactions worth more than US$4 billion spanning industrial, logistics, office, residential, retail and hospitality assets.

Before joining Panattoni, Gohil served as chief executive officer of IndoSpace Capital Asia, India’s largest industrial and logistics platform, a role he held since 2015. During his tenure, he led a business managing assets worth more than US$3.2 billion, raising capital across development and core funds while driving investment performance across multiple strategies.

Earlier in his career, he held senior investment and asset management positions at Apollo Global Management, Citigroup Property Investors and AXA Real Estate Investment Managers, gaining experience across India, Asia-Pacific and European markets.

Explaining the appointment, Panattoni CEO and co-owner Europe, UK, Middle East & India Robert Dobrzycki said India has become one of the company’s most strategic markets with substantial long-term potential.

He said the company wanted the strongest leadership available to execute its ambitions in the country, adding that Gohil’s experience in building platforms, raising capital and delivering sustained growth makes him the ideal person to lead Panattoni’s India operations. Dobrzycki added that the appointment underlines the company’s commitment to establishing itself as a leading player in India’s industrial, logistics and digital infrastructure sectors.

Panattoni entered the Indian market in 2022 and has steadily expanded its footprint through large-scale industrial developments. Its projects include the flagship Panattoni Park NH71 in the Delhi-NCR region, a recently announced mega logistics park in Kochi and a specialised aerospace-grade manufacturing hub in Hyderabad. The company says it continues to grow its development pipeline as occupiers increasingly seek modern, sustainable industrial and logistics facilities in strategic locations.

Speaking about his new role, Sharad Gohil said the developer has built one of the world’s most successful industrial real estate platforms and that he is excited to bring its global experience and expertise to India.

He said the company has assembled a strong local team and laid solid foundations over the past few years, positioning it to support India’s rapidly expanding industrial, logistics and digital infrastructure requirements while building a market-leading platform for the future.

Going forward, Panattoni plans to accelerate its India expansion by targeting opportunities across logistics, manufacturing, e-commerce, data centres and related infrastructure. Backed by its global operations spanning North America, Europe, India and the Middle East, the developer aims to strengthen its presence across major industrial corridors and logistics hubs by combining international expertise with local market knowledge and long-term investment partnerships.

With an experienced industry hand now at the helm, Panattoni is looking to turn India’s industrial growth story into its next major chapter, laying the foundations for sustained expansion in one of the world’s most dynamic real estate markets.
