MUMBAI: John Abraham’s latest blockbuster isn’t headed for the box office, it’s landed in Bandra’s most exclusive neighbourhood. The actor has added another marquee address to his real estate portfolio, purchasing a bungalow in Mumbai’s Bandra West for Rs 84 crore, reinforcing the enduring appeal of standalone luxury homes despite the city’s vertical boom.
According to property registration records cited in media reports, the transaction was registered on 14 July 2026 and involves a freehold property on St Martin Road, one of Bandra’s most sought-after residential pockets, known for its premium bungalows and celebrity homeowners.
The property stands on a 1,017.60-square-metre plot and includes an existing bungalow with a built-up area of around 193.12 square metres, along with an outhouse measuring approximately 31.50 square metres. Registration records also show that Rs 5.04 crore was paid towards stamp duty for the acquisition.
The bungalow was acquired from members of the Divitre family through a registered conveyance deed. Neither the buyers nor the sellers have publicly commented on the transaction.
The purchase marks another significant investment by Abraham in Mumbai’s premium housing market. In 2023, the actor acquired another upscale bungalow in Khar for more than Rs 70 crore, signalling a consistent preference for standalone luxury residences over high-rise apartments.
The latest deal comes at a time when demand for trophy homes in Mumbai continues to remain resilient. Prestigious neighbourhoods such as Bandra, Juhu and Khar have seen sustained interest from celebrities, entrepreneurs and business leaders, with limited land availability keeping premium bungalow prices elevated despite the rise of luxury residential towers.
Away from real estate, Abraham is also preparing for his next big-screen outing, where he is set to portray former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria in a biographical drama based on the veteran officer’s life and career.
For Mumbai’s luxury property market, the transaction is another reminder that while the city’s skyline continues to climb higher, some of its most coveted addresses remain firmly rooted at ground level.
