The Zora unveils ultra-exclusive Estate, capping bookings at ten a year

Abhinav Bhagat-designed venue within Open Canvas targets Delhi’s most demanding luxury clientele

DELHI: The Zora Delhi Convention Centre is going deliberately scarce. The venue has pre-launched The Zora Estate, a new premium space designed by celebrated wedding and event designer Abhinav Bhagat within its landmark Open Canvas at Lodhi Road, and it plans to keep it that way: just nine to ten events a year, by design rather than demand.

The Estate reimagines Open Canvas for luxury weddings, sangeets, corporate events, brand experiences and large-format productions, anchored by a newly built entrance and courtyard that fuses Indian design sensibility with a global aesthetic. Showarounds will be strictly invite-only, reserved for select media, planners and prospective clients rather than thrown open to the public.

The move builds on a blistering first year for The Zora, which has hosted more than 125 high-profile events since opening at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, trading on central accessibility, expansive infrastructure and the flexibility to swing from grand weddings to corporate conferences and product launches. The Estate now pushes the venue squarely into the ultra-luxury segment.

Bhagat, who designed the space, said the aim was for guests to feel the luxury the moment they walk in, calling the courtyard and entrance breathtaking by design and describing the brief as distinctly Indian but built with a global sensibility. Vivek Tyagi, general manager of operations at The Zora, said the Estate marks the next step in how the venue sees event spaces evolving across Delhi and the National Capital Region, building on a strong year across its Ballroom, Myst and Open Canvas spaces.

The launch taps into a broader shift in India’s event industry, where demand is tilting hard towards venues that are experience-led, visually immersive and adaptable across formats, rather than merely large. The Zora Estate was shown off to select media, planners, wedding professionals and influencers on 10th July, ahead of a wider rollout for bookings. With scarcity baked into the model, the real question now is who gets an invite, and who gets left waiting.
