MUMBAI: Talk just got cheaper, and a lot smarter. Nurix AI has acquired enterprise conversational AI firm Verloop.io, strengthening its artificial intelligence platform with expanded capabilities across both voice and chat as businesses increasingly adopt AI-powered customer engagement.
The acquisition bolsters Nurix’s enterprise AI agent business by combining its voice AI platform, NuPlay, with Verloop.io’s expertise in chat automation. The combined platform is expected to help enterprises deploy AI agents across multiple customer touchpoints, particularly in India and the Middle East.
Verloop.io currently facilitates more than 20 million customer interactions every month and has built a strong presence in sectors such as financial services, retail, banking, fintech and telecommunications. The acquisition also gives Nurix access to Verloop.io’s regional customer base, strengthening its position in markets where messaging-led customer interactions dominate.
Founded by serial entrepreneur Mukesh Bansal, Nurix AI develops autonomous AI agents that automate complex enterprise workflows. Backed by General Catalyst, Accel and Prosus, the company has focused on helping businesses move beyond AI experimentation to production-scale deployments that improve operational efficiency and business performance.
Commenting on the acquisition, Nurix AI founder and CEO Mukesh Bansal said, “AI is becoming a core operating layer for enterprises, but its value will be measured by real business outcomes, not pilots. Acquiring Verloop.io strengthens our ability to help enterprises move from experimentation to measurable ROI.”
He added that Verloop.io’s chat automation capabilities, combined with Nurix’s expertise in voice AI, would create a stronger platform capable of automating workflows across a wider range of customer interactions.
As part of the transaction, Verloop.io founder Gaurav Singh will join Nurix AI’s leadership team, where he will help shape product strategy, enterprise go-to-market initiatives and the development of the company’s next generation of AI agents.
Speaking about the deal, Singh said enterprises today understand AI’s potential but often struggle to deploy it reliably at scale. He said the combined platform would help accelerate the adoption of autonomous AI across the customer lifecycle.
Following the acquisition, Verloop.io will operate as part of Nurix AI, although the companies have not disclosed detailed integration plans. As enterprises increasingly seek AI tools that deliver measurable returns rather than experimental projects, the combined company is positioning itself to capture growing demand for production-grade AI agents across voice, chat and future AI-native channels.
