BENGALURU: Microland, the Bengaluru-based AI-first technology infrastructure services company, has appointed Sam Mathew as chief executive officer, ending a 36.5-year run at the helm for founder Pradeep Kar.
A succession, not a surprise. Mathew has served as president of Microland for the past 18 months, quietly building the case for the top job by strengthening customer relationships, scaling the company’s platform-led services and sharpening its focus on AI, automation and autonomous operations.
As chief executive, Mathew will lead Microland’s global business and drive its next phase of growth, with particular emphasis on expanding AI-first, platform-led services, deepening strategic client partnerships and accelerating innovation.
Kar, who built Microland over nearly four decades into a global technology infrastructure company serving enterprises across industries, will not disappear entirely. He will remain closely involved, guiding strategy, culture and relationships with clients and partners worldwide.
“This transition is part of Microland’s long-term vision to build an enduring institution,” Kar said, adding that Mathew had demonstrated strong leadership, customer commitment and cultural alignment.
Mathew, for his part, struck a measured tone. “Microland has built a strong reputation for delivering reliable, high-quality technology infrastructure services,” he said, pledging to focus on innovation, customer success and building a future-ready organisation.
Thirty-six years to build it. Eighteen months to earn it. The baton has been passed.
