MUMBAI: In India’s AI race, the loudest buzz isn’t coming from algorithms alone, it’s coming from creators. Google Gemini has emerged as the frontrunner in the country’s AI creator ecosystem, outpacing rivals ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity across influencer collaborations, content volume and audience engagement, according to a report by influencer intelligence platform Qoruz.
The analysis places Gemini firmly in the report’s “Leader” quadrant, reflecting both high creator participation and strong engagement. While ChatGPT also features in the leadership segment, Claude and Perplexity lag behind on both creator activity and audience interaction.
Gemini’s dominance is most evident among micro influencers with 10,000 to 100,000 followers, who generated around 22.9K posts for the platform, compared with 6.8K for ChatGPT. Among nano creators, Gemini attracted 7.6K posts, more than three times ChatGPT’s 2.5K, while macro influencers produced 6.6K posts for Gemini against 3.9K for ChatGPT.
The gap extends well beyond creator size. Across content categories, Gemini led with 11.5K posts in Arts & Entertainment, significantly ahead of ChatGPT’s 2.8K. It also topped Beauty (5.5K), Lifestyle (4.7K), Fashion (4.1K), Tech & Gadgets (2.7K) and Health & Fitness (2.4K), underlining its broad appeal across India’s influencer landscape.
Short-form video continued to dominate AI conversations on social media. Reels emerged as the preferred content format, with Gemini generating 27.8K Reels, compared with 9.1K for ChatGPT. Carousel posts also remained popular, with Gemini recording 7.8K against ChatGPT’s 3.5K.
The report suggests Google’s creator outreach strategy has translated into both higher participation and stronger engagement, helping Gemini establish itself as the most visible AI brand among Indian content creators.
Qoruz also found that competition for creator mindshare remains highly fragmented. Of the nearly 10,000 AI-focused influencers tracked, around 8,200 collaborated exclusively with a single AI platform, indicating that exclusive partnerships continue to dominate the market.
Where overlap exists, it is centred on Gemini. The platform shares around 1,700 creators with ChatGPT, alongside approximately 439 with Claude and 195 with Perplexity, making Gemini the most connected player in India’s AI influencer ecosystem.
The findings also reinforce the growing importance of micro and nano influencers in shaping AI conversations online. As competition among AI platforms intensifies, success is increasingly being measured not just by model capabilities but by who can capture creators’ attention—and, through them, the audience’s imagination.
