Four social-first stories show how everyday decisions on the road can make a difference

Four social-first stories show how everyday decisions on the road can make a difference

MUMBAI: Freedom comes with choices, but perhaps the more important question is what we do with them. Nayara Energy is marking Independence Day with four short, social-first AI films that explore how everyday decisions can reflect responsibility towards others.

Built around the idea of “the freedom to do the right thing”, the campaign shifts the focus from grand patriotic gestures to small choices people make on the road.

The four films feature familiar road situations where convenience can easily win out. One shows a driver waiting at a red light, another focuses on parking within designated lines, while the remaining stories highlight slowing down for a pedestrian and staying in the correct lane.

In each scenario, the protagonist has the option of taking the easier route but instead chooses to act responsibly. The films use simple, observational storytelling, allowing the situations and actions to deliver the message without heavy narration.

The campaign is based on the idea that freedom gives people the ability to make their own choices, but living in a free society also requires awareness of how those choices affect others.

Nayara Energy said the campaign aims to highlight that responsible behaviour does not always require a major intervention. Patience, consideration and respect in everyday situations can make roads safer and communities more considerate.

The four films collectively suggest that when small responsible choices are made by enough people, they can contribute to a safer and better India.

The campaign is being distributed primarily through social media, with the AI-generated films designed for short-form viewing.

The Independence Day campaign adds a behavioural layer to Nayara Energy’s broader focus on mobility and communities. The company operates the Vadinar refinery, which it describes as India’s second-largest single-site refinery, with a capacity of 20 million tonnes per annum.

Nayara Energy also operates more than 7,000 retail outlets across India and has expanded into petrochemicals with a 450,000-tonne-per-annum polypropylene plant.

Beyond its energy operations, the company runs community development initiatives covering health and nutrition, education and skill development, and sustainable livelihoods.

With its latest campaign, Nayara Energy puts a simple spin on the meaning of freedom: sometimes, doing the right thing is not about having more choices, but choosing responsibly when nobody is asking you to.
