Beep powers Google Gemini Student Ambassador rollout

Beep drives outreach across 1,250 colleges for Google AI push.

MUMBAI: From lecture halls to AI-led hustles, India’s campuses are fast becoming the country’s newest innovation playground. And right at the centre of that student-tech crossover is Beep App, the Pune-based EdTech startup now helping Google scale one of its largest campus ambassador programmes in the country. Beep App has partnered as the outreach and recruitment partner for the Google Gemini Student Ambassador (GSA) Program 2026, supporting a nationwide student mobilisation drive focused on artificial intelligence, leadership and digital community-building.

As part of the initiative, Beep conducted outreach across more than 1,250 colleges spanning over 20 Indian states, generating 2,624 student applications for the programme. Following a multi-stage screening and evaluation process, 1,577 students were selected as Google Gemini Student Ambassadors for the 2026 cycle.

The selected ambassadors will now serve as official campus representatives for Gemini AI across their colleges between May 2026 and March 2027.

Run in partnership with Communique Marketing Solutions, engaged by Google India, the initiative aims to identify undergraduate students capable of driving AI awareness, peer-led learning and campus-level adoption of Gemini AI tools.

The programme reflects a growing shift in how technology companies are approaching student engagement in India moving beyond conventional campus hiring and internships towards community-led ecosystems built around AI literacy, creator culture and hands-on digital participation.

Under the programme, ambassadors will conduct Gemini AI workshops, lead campus learning sessions, promote initiatives such as House of Gemini and Fund My Crazy, and create content demonstrating real-world AI applications for students and young professionals. They will also spearhead community-building activities around entrepreneurship, digital creativity and emerging technologies.

“Beep was built to connect students with real opportunities. Partnering on the Google Gemini Student Ambassador Program is exactly the kind of impact we exist to drive,” said Saurabh Mangrulkar, Founder and CEO of Beep App.

He added that the scale of participation reflected how actively young Indians are engaging with AI-led opportunities and future-facing careers.

The programme also comes loaded with incentives designed for digitally native student audiences. Ambassadors will receive official Google certification, exclusive merchandise, AMA sessions with Google engineers, and performance-linked rewards ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 10,000 in e-vouchers. Participants can also win Google Pixel Buds, Pixel 10a smartphones and YouTube Premium subscriptions.

Beep handled outreach, application mobilisation and candidate engagement for the programme through targeted campaigns aimed at students interested in AI, technology, leadership, marketing and creator-led careers.

The selection process itself unfolded in two stages. The first involved automated qualification and manual application screening, while shortlisted students then submitted three-minute video responses answering structured evaluation prompts. More than 668 applicants cleared the auto-qualification stage before further manual review shaped the final cohort.

Participation came from students across some of India’s leading institutions, including IIT Bombay, IIT Patna, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Gandhinagar, NIT Patna, SVNIT Surat, KIIT University, NMIMS Mumbai, Symbiosis International University, Jadavpur University, BITS Pilani and Manipal University Jaipur.

Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar and West Bengal emerged among the strongest participating regions, while additional entries flowed in from Delhi NCR, Karnataka, Telangana, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Assam, Goa and Uttarakhand.

The initiative also underlines how India’s campus ecosystem is increasingly becoming a battleground for future technology adoption. As AI tools move from buzzword to everyday utility, student ambassador programmes are evolving into strategic pipelines for product awareness, community engagement and early talent identification.

For Beep, the partnership strengthens its positioning within India’s higher education ecosystem at a time when brands and technology companies are aggressively looking for scalable, student-first engagement models to build relevance among Gen Z audiences.
