Adobe brings 70-plus creative tools to ChatGPT with new plugin

Photoshop, Premiere, Acrobat and Firefly tools arrive in one interface for creative workflows

MUMBAI: Adobe is putting a creative toolbox inside the chatbot, and users may no longer need to keep hopping between apps to get the job done. The company has launched a new ChatGPT plugin bringing more than 70 creative and productivity tools into the AI platform, covering everything from image and video editing to design and PDF workflows.

Available globally on ChatGPT web and mobile, the plugin works across ChatGPT Work and Codex, bringing capabilities from Adobe’s wider ecosystem into a single conversational interface.

The integration brings together tools from Adobe Express, Photoshop, Firefly, Premiere, Acrobat, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign and Adobe Stock, among other Adobe applications. Users can create, edit and manage content through natural-language prompts rather than switching between different applications for each stage of a project.

That could mean generating campaign creatives, turning a long-form video into platform-specific versions such as Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, creating marketing assets or converting datasets into professionally formatted PDFs, all within the same ChatGPT conversation.

The plugin is designed to automatically select the appropriate Adobe capabilities based on what a user asks for. The idea is less about adding another button to an already crowded creative workflow and more about letting users describe the finished job while the software handles the tool-hopping behind the scenes.

For businesses, marketers and creative professionals, the integration could simplify workflows that typically involve moving files and projects between multiple applications.

Users can access a broad range of capabilities as guests, while those with Adobe accounts get additional features including generative AI tools, Creative Cloud file integration and the ability to save work across sessions.

The launch expands Adobe’s existing relationship with OpenAI and follows earlier integrations that brought individual Adobe applications into ChatGPT. The company is also pursuing a wider strategy of making its creative ecosystem accessible through AI assistants rather than limiting users to its own applications.

Adobe has expanded integrations with ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot, with support for Slack and Gemini planned next.

The new plugin does not replace Adobe’s native applications. Users can still move projects into Adobe’s own software for more advanced editing and production, but ChatGPT now becomes another front door into the company’s creative toolkit.

As AI assistants increasingly evolve from answering questions to completing tasks, Adobe’s latest move puts a familiar creative question in a new format: instead of asking which app to open first, users can simply describe what they want and let the AI figure out the rest.
