ElevenLabs names Karthik Rajaram as general manager and country head for India

MUMBAI: Elevenlabs has appointed Karthik Rajaram as general manager and country head for India, sharpening its push into one of the world’s fastest-growing markets for AI-generated voice and audio.

Rajaram will lead go-to-market strategy, revenue growth and partnerships, as the US-based AI audio firm scales its presence across India’s media, enterprise and developer ecosystem. The move signals a deeper bet on India as AI voice adoption accelerates across entertainment, customer engagement, gaming and education.

A technology veteran with over two decades of experience, Rajaram joins from Elastic, where he was general manager and vice-president for India and South Asia, steering rapid expansion and positioning India as a global growth engine. Earlier stints include senior leadership roles at Freshworks, Akamai Technologies and Microsoft, spanning cloud, security and large-scale enterprise adoption.

“India sits at the heart of the global AI and digital content shift,” Rajaram said, calling Elevenlabs well placed to power “human-like, scalable and trustworthy” voice experiences across industries. He said the breadth of use cases in India made this a defining moment for the company.

Carles Reina, vice-president international at Elevenlabs, said India was central to the company’s long-term strategy, citing its vast developer base, fast-growing digital economy and leadership in media and technology services. “This appointment underlines our ambition to build an enduring presence in the market,” he said.

Elevenlabs has been steadily expanding in India over the past year, building local teams and partnerships while working with enterprises, developers and creators to deploy AI-generated voice at scale. The company already has a 13-plus-member go-to-market team and works with Indian platforms including Meesho, Cars24, 99acres, TVS Motors, Mahindra, Jiostar and Pocketfm.

Founded in 2022, Elevenlabs develops AI audio tools used globally for content creation, customer interaction and AI voice agents in more than 30 languages. Its platform is used by employees from over 72 per cent of the Fortune 500.

With India’s linguistic diversity and booming creator economy, Elevenlabs is betting that the next big voice it scales will speak with an Indian accent — and do so at volume.
