MUMBAI: When a new hotel project gets the divine nod before the first brick is even laid, you know Mumbai’s hospitality scene is about to level up in style. A traditional pre-opening puja ceremony was held to mark the upcoming launch of a landmark hospitality development in Powai, Mumbai. Hosted by Vijayta Raheja and Nikhil K. Raheja of the K Raheja family group, alongside Sudeep Jain, Managing Director (South West Asia) of IHG Hotels & Resorts, the event received added prestige with the attendance of the chief minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis.
The project comprises a dual hotel complex with approximately 300 keys, 13 meeting rooms, 4 F&B outlets, expansive lawns and multiple public and event spaces, along with a large-format convention centre. Scheduled to open in 2026, the development is positioned as a key addition to Mumbai’s evolving hospitality landscape, blending scale with thoughtful design.
The collaboration between the K Raheja Group and IHG Hotels & Resorts aims to deliver an integrated hospitality ecosystem catering to both business and leisure segments. Speaking on the occasion, Vijayta Raheja congratulated Chief Minister Fadnavis and highlighted Maharashtra’s progressive governance and investment-friendly environment. “Developments such as these further strengthen the state’s position as a preferred destination for tourism, business, and global investments,” she said.
Chief Minister Fadnavis emphasised the importance of such large-scale integrated developments in boosting Mumbai’s status as a global hub for tourism, business and international MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions). He congratulated both the K Raheja Group and IHG Hotels & Resorts on the venture.
From sacred rituals to strategic vision, this Powai project is clearly aiming high because when tradition meets modern hospitality in Mumbai, the result is bound to be a five-star success story.
